Refund & Return Policy

At SLC, every piece is individually crafted and tailored to specific measurements, style preferences, and design specifications. We take immense pride in creating one-of-a-kind garments that are uniquely yours. Due to the custom nature of our work, we have established the following policy to ensure fairness to both our clients and our atelier.


Ready-to-Wear Items

Limited Collection Pieces

For non-custom, ready-to-wear pieces from our collections:

  • Returns accepted within 14 days for store credit
  • Same conditions apply as listed above
  • No refunds available

Custom and Tailored Items

No Refunds on Custom Pieces

All custom-made and tailored garments are final sale and non-refundable. This includes:

  • Custom-designed pieces created to your specifications
  • Made-to-measure garments
  • Items altered to your measurements
  • Personalized designs with specific fabric, color, or style choices

Why We Cannot Offer Refunds: Each SLC piece is meticulously crafted specifically for you. Your custom garment cannot be resold to another client as it has been cut, constructed, and fitted to your unique measurements and specifications. The materials, labor, and artistry invested in your piece begin the moment you approve your design.

Returns for Store Credit

While refunds are not available, we do accept returns within 14 days of delivery for store credit under the following conditions:

Eligible for Store Credit:

  • Item must be returned within 14 days of delivery
  • Item must be unworn, unaltered, and in original condition
  • All tags must be attached
  • Item must be free from makeup, deodorant marks, perfume, smoke, or other odors
  • Item must be returned with original packaging and receipt

Store Credit Terms:

  • Store credit will be issued for the full purchase price (excluding shipping)
  • Store credit never expires
  • Store credit may be applied to any future SLC purchase
  • Store credit is non-transferable

Quality Guarantee

Our Commitment to Excellence

We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship. If your garment has a defect in materials or workmanship, we will:

  • Repair the item at no cost to you
  • Remake the item if repair is not possible
  • Issue store credit if neither repair nor remake is feasible

To Report a Quality Issue: Contact us within 30 days of receiving your item with photos of the issue.

Lifetime Alterations

Every SLC piece includes complimentary lifetime alterations. Should your body change or you wish to refresh the fit, we will alter your garment at no charge (client covers shipping if applicable).


Approval Process

Preventing Disappointment

To minimize the possibility of dissatisfaction with your custom piece:

  1. Design Approval: You will approve all design sketches before construction begins
  2. Fabric Approval: You will approve all fabric choices before cutting
  3. Measurement Confirmation: We will confirm all measurements before construction
  4. Fitting Sessions: We offer fitting sessions during construction for local clients
  5. Final Approval: Local clients have a final fitting before completion

Once you approve the design, fabric, and measurements, these elements cannot be changed, and the sale becomes final.


Return Process

How to Initiate a Return

  1. Contact us within 14 days of delivery at [email] or [phone]
  2. Provide your order number and reason for return
  3. Receive a Return Authorization Number (RAN)
  4. Ship the item back within 7 days of receiving your RAN

Return Shipping

  • Client is responsible for return shipping costs
  • We recommend insured shipping with tracking
  • SLC is not responsible for items lost in return shipping
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable

Exclusions

Items That Cannot Be Returned

  • Custom or personalized items after 14 days
  • Items worn, altered, or damaged by the client
  • Sale items marked as "Final Sale"
  • Undergarments or intimate apparel
  • Accessories (unless defective)
  • Items without tags or original packaging

Special Event Orders

Time-Sensitive Pieces

For garments ordered for specific events (weddings, galas, etc.):

  • We require acknowledgment that you understand our no-refund policy
  • Rush orders are absolutely final sale
  • We recommend allowing minimum 8-12 weeks for custom pieces
  • Delays due to client-requested changes may affect delivery dates

Consultation Fees

Design Consultation Services

  • Consultation fees are non-refundable
  • Consultation fees may be applied to purchases made within 30 days
  • No-show appointments forfeit consultation fee

Disputes and Concerns

  • Additional alterations
  • Styling consultations to maximize your piece
  • Application of store credit to a new design
